Urban Plates is a California chain that sells chef-made plates, salads and sandwiches at a counter, a bit like a cafeteria line with a grill behind it. You pick a protein, pick two sides, and it’s plated in front of you. The menu leans on labels you’ll see everywhere on it: grass-fed steak, cage-free chicken, sustainable salmon and scratch-made sides.

Most menu-price sites for Urban Plates show figures that are a year or more out of date. This guide doesn’t need them. Urban Plates publishes its own menus as PDFs, with prices and calories, and the current ones are dated October 2026. Every price below comes from those menus unless we say otherwise.

Urban Plates Plates Menu: Prices and Calories

An Urban Plates plate is one protein, any two sides and a slice of grilled rustic bread. On the October 2026 Southern California menu, plates run from $15.50 for Chili Glazed Grilled Organic Tofu to $27.99 for Surf & Turf. The Grilled Cage Free Chicken plate is $17.99 and the Grilled Grass Fed Steak plate is $22.99.

The calories in the table are for the protein alone. Your two sides add anywhere from 50 to 530 calories more, and the bread adds 150. Ask for no bread and most plates become gluten-free, according to the menu.

Plate (protein) Price Protein calories Dietary tags
Grilled Organic Tofu w. chili glaze $15.50 240 cal GF · V · DF

Surf & Turf (steak + garlic shrimp) $27.99 580 cal GF
Sides Plate, 3 sides / 4 sides $13.50 / $15.50 210–2,120 cal Depends on sides

So which plate is the best deal? The Grilled Cage Free Chicken. It’s $5 cheaper than the steak and carries similar protein-only calories (270 against 250). And your two sides and bread come with it either way, so the gap is all in the protein. If you want fish, the Seared Wild Ahi Tuna at $19.50 undercuts the salmon by $3.

Urban Plates Sides: What You Can Choose

Urban Plates lets you choose two sides with every plate, from vegetables, starches, grains and side salads. The lightest is the Seasonal Green at 50 to 170 calories. The heaviest standard choice is French Fries with herb seasoning at 430 calories, and Truffle Parmesan Fries reach 530 calories for $2 extra.

Side Group Calories Extra cost
Seasonal Green Vegetables 50–170 cal —
Organic Carrots & Beets Vegetables 170 cal —

Yellow Basmati Rice Grains 220 cal —
Side House Salad Salads 110 cal +$0.50

The side choice matters more than most people think. A Grilled Cage Free Chicken plate with Seasonal Green and Marble Potatoes comes to roughly 590 to 710 calories with bread. Swap those for Fries and Mac & Cheese and the same plate passes 1,200. That’s our own arithmetic from the menu’s figures, and it’s the single biggest lever you have on this menu.

Urban Plates Salads Menu

Urban Plates’ entrée salads cost $13.50 to $20.50 on the October 2026 Southern California menu and come with grilled rustic bread. The Chopped Caesar is $13.50, or $16.99 with grilled chicken. The Niçoise with grilled salmon is the priciest at $20.50, and the Soup & Salad Combo is $9.99.

Niçoise w. grilled salmon $20.50 810 cal —

Salad calories here are higher than the word “salad” suggests. The Southwest Grilled Chicken salad, at 940 calories, has more than a Grilled Grass Fed Steak plate with two light sides. Dressing does much of that work, so asking for it on the side is the easy fix.

You can add a protein to a salad or other dish: grilled chicken for $9.50, grass-fed steak or salmon for $10.99, seared ahi for $9.99, garlic shrimp for $6.99, a crispy jumbo chicken tender for $5.50, or organic tofu for $5.99. Those are the add-on prices printed on the menu.

Sandwiches, Wraps and Burgers

Urban Plates sandwiches cost $12.99 to $16.99 and come with chips. The Grilled Cage Free Chicken and Grilled Organic Tofu sandwiches are $12.99. Grass-fed cheeseburgers are $13.50 single or $15.99 double, with herb seasoned fries. Half Sandwich Combos with soup or side salad start at $10.99.

Chicken Caesar Wrap $13.99 850–870 cal
Korean Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wrap $13.99 830–860 cal

Half Sandwich Combos

A half sandwich with a cup of soup or a side salad and rustic bread costs $10.99 for Grilled Cage Free Chicken or Grilled Organic Tofu, and $11.99 for Grilled Grass Fed Steak or Turkey Avocado Club. That’s the cheapest way to try the steak sandwich, at $5 less than the full one.

Gluten-free bread is available on sandwiches for a small upcharge. Urban Plates’ nutrition page puts that swap at $1.50, and the menu notes gluten-free bread adds 420 calories.

Bowls, Braises and Soups

Urban Plates’ braises are slow-cooked and served with mashed potatoes or yellow basmati rice. The Moroccan Chicken Braise is $15.50 and the Beef & Mushroom Braise is $16.99. The vegan Beets + Avocado Bowl is $13.50. Tomato Basil and Chicken Tortilla soups are $5.50 a cup or $7.50 a bowl.

Chicken Tortilla soup, cup / bowl $5.50 / $7.50 110–240 cal —

The Tomato Basil soup is made with coconut milk and vegan pesto, which is why it’s marked vegan and dairy-free despite tasting creamy. Skip the croutons and bread if you need it gluten-free, as the menu notes.

Urban Plates Kids Menu

Urban Plates kids’ meals cost $8.99 to $13.99. Each comes with any side, grilled rustic bread and organic milk or apple juice. Macaroni & Cheese is $8.99, Crispy Jumbo Chicken Tenders and Grilled Cage Free Chicken are $10.99, Grilled Grass Fed Steak is $13.50 and Grilled Sustainable Salmon is $13.99.

Kids meal Price Calories (with side)
Macaroni & Cheese $8.99 510–970 cal
Crispy Jumbo Chicken Tenders $10.99 440–800 cal
Grilled Cage Free Chicken $10.99 300–660 cal
Grilled Grass Fed Steak $13.50 290–650 cal
Grilled Sustainable Salmon $13.99 380–740 cal

The kids’ steak plate has gone up the most of anything we tracked: from $8.50 on Urban Plates’ 2021 menu to $13.50 now. More on that in the price history section.

Desserts and Drinks

Urban Plates bakes its desserts from scratch daily, per the menu. Cookies are $3.99 each or three for $11. Banana Cream Pie and the new Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream Pie are $7.99, and cake slices are $8.99. Drinks run from $3.50 for Cafe Moto organic coffee to $7 for kombucha.

Organic Iced Tea $4.25 0 cal
Stubborn Natural Soda $4.25 130–160 cal
Urban Replenishers $5.99 100–360 cal
Kombucha $7 50 cal

Urban Replenishers are Urban Plates’ house drinks. The October 2026 menu lists six: mango ginseng mint green tea, organic lemonade, dragon fruit & strawberry, pineapple coconut lime, blueberry lemonade and strawberry basil lemonade. The Hummingbird Cake slice, at 1,100 calories, has more than most of the plates.

Family Meals To-Go

Urban Plates family meals serve 4 and include one protein, any two family-size sides and grilled rustic bread. On the October 2026 Southern California menu they cost $64.50 for Crispy Chicken Tenders or Grilled Cage Free Chicken, $77.50 for Barramundi Seabass, $81.50 for steak or salmon, and $83.99 for Chimichurri Grass Fed Steak.

Family meal (serves 4) Price Per person
Crispy Chicken Tenders $64.50 $16.13
Grilled Cage Free Chicken $64.50 $16.13
Roasted Barramundi Seabass $77.50 $19.38
Grilled Grass Fed Steak $81.50 $20.38
Grilled Sustainable Salmon $81.50 $20.38
Blackened Sustainable Salmon $81.50 $20.38
Chimichurri Grass Fed Steak $83.99 $21.00

Here’s what the per-person column shows. A family chicken meal works out at $16.13 a head, only $1.86 less than a single chicken plate at $17.99. The steak family meal saves a little more, $2.61 a head against the $22.99 single plate. So the saving is real but small; the bigger benefit is one order instead of four. You can add a family House or Caesar salad for $10.

Urban Plates Catering Menu and Prices

Urban Plates catering covers boxed meals, sandwich trays, salad bowls, protein trays and per-person plates. On its October 2026 Southern California catering menu, a small sandwich tray (5 sandwiches cut in half) is $85 and a large is $170. Catering plates with one protein and two sides start at $16.50 per person for tofu and $18.99 for chicken.

How catering ordering works

According to the catering menu, you order online at urbanplates.com for pickup or delivery, or talk to a catering consultant at catering@urbanplates.com or 1-800-652-4788. Delivery runs within a 10-mile radius for a $25 fee, through a third-party courier. For larger orders, the menu says, a manager may deliver in person depending on availability.

Every catering order comes with disposable plates, cutlery, napkins and serving utensils. To keep food hot, a wire chafing rack with base pan and two 4-hour Sterno fuels costs $9.50, and a spare set of two Sternos is $4.50. Urban Plates’ catering page suggests 24 to 48 hours’ notice for most orders, and 3 to 7 days for large events.

Planning a team lunch? Individually boxed plates suit offices where everyone eats at different times. Group trays are cheaper per person on the protein, but they need a table and someone to serve.

How Urban Plates Prices Have Changed Since 2021

Comparing Urban Plates’ own menus, the Grilled Grass Fed Steak plate went from $16.75 in 2021 to $18.50 in 2022 and $22.99 in October 2026, a 37% rise. The chicken plate rose 29%, from $13.95 to $17.99. Braises and kids’ plates rose fastest, by 40% to 59%.

No other Urban Plates guide we found tracks this, so we built it from three of the chain’s own menus: an October 2021 San Diego/Orange County menu, an October 2022 Southern California menu, and the 21 October 2026 Southern California menu. They’re the same chain’s printed prices, a few years apart.

Item Oct 2021 Oct 2022 Oct 2026 Change since 2021
Grilled Grass Fed Steak plate $16.75 $18.50 $22.99 +37%

Grilled Grass Fed Steak sandwich $12.50 $14.25 $16.99 +36%
Moroccan Chicken Braise $11.00 $12.75 $15.50 +41%
Beef & Mushroom Braise $12.00 $13.75 $16.99 +42%
Kids Grilled Grass Fed Steak $8.50 $9.50 $13.50 +59%
Family meal: Grilled Grass Fed Steak $53.95 $58.95 $81.50 +51%
Cafe Moto Organic Coffee $2.50 $3.00 $3.50 +40%

Two patterns stand out. The salads and sandwiches rose least, about 17% to 18%. The things that rose most are the slow-cooked braises, the family meals and the kids’ steak. If you used to order Urban Plates for the family, you’re paying about half as much again for the same steak dinner.

One caution: the 2021 menu is labelled San Diego/Orange County and the newer two are labelled Southern California. They overlap heavily but may not be the exact same price zone, so treat the percentages as close, not exact.

How to Order at Urban Plates

You can order Urban Plates at the counter, online at urbanplates.com for pickup or delivery, through the Urban Plates app, or through delivery apps such as DoorDash. The menu says delivery prices are generally higher than dine-in and takeout. Catering is ordered online, by email or by phone.

  1. At the restaurant: Urban Plates is counter service. Choose a plate, salad, sandwich or bowl, then pick two sides if you ordered a plate. Food is made in front of you.
  2. Online or in the app for pickup: pick your restaurant first, because prices vary by location. Pickup orders get dine-in and takeout pricing.
  3. Delivery from Urban Plates: the chain’s site and app take delivery orders, at delivery menu pricing.
  4. Third-party apps: DoorDash lists Urban Plates stores. Expect higher prices, and note that Plate Pass savings don’t apply there.
  5. Catering: order at urbanplates.com, email catering@urbanplates.com or call 1-800-652-4788, with 24 to 48 hours’ notice for most orders.

Our advice is simple: order pickup in the app. It’s the dine-in price, you choose your store so the price is accurate, and it’s the only channel besides walking in where a Plate Pass discount works.

Plate Pass: Is the Urban Plates Membership Worth It?

Plate Pass is Urban Plates’ paid membership. It gives 20% off dine-in and takeout orders, including orders on the website and app, but not third-party delivery, catering, gift cards or holiday meals, according to Urban Plates’ Plate Pass pages. It can’t be combined with other discounts.

Urban Plates’ own pages list monthly and longer plans, but they disagree on the tier prices, and some of those pages are years old. So check the current price in the app before you sign up. The maths is easy to run yourself: 20% off an $18 chicken plate saves $3.60, so a plan costing around $5 a month pays for itself after two plates.

Who it suits

Anyone eating at Urban Plates twice a month or more, especially for pickup lunches. The saving covers the whole check, drinks and desserts included.

Who should skip it

Occasional visitors, people who mostly use DoorDash, and catering buyers. None of those get the discount.

Order limit

The Plate Pass rules cap each order at 15 entrées, so it won’t stretch to a big office lunch.

Surcharge still applies

Per the Plate Pass rules, sales tax and the restaurant surcharge still apply to member orders.

Urban Plates Locations and Hours

Urban Plates operates in California. Its locations page groups restaurants under Los Angeles, Southern California, Orange County, San Diego, Northern California and Sacramento. The chain opened its first restaurant in the San Diego area in 2011. Hours vary by store; the store listings we saw open at 11 AM.

Restaurants mentioned on Urban Plates’ site and in local news include Del Mar, Carlsbad, La Jolla and Mission Valley in San Diego County; Irvine, Tustin, Brea and Fountain Valley in Orange County; Pasadena, Long Beach, Torrance and Playa Vista in Los Angeles County; and Sunnyvale, San Jose, Pleasant Hill, Dublin and Sacramento in Northern California. The list changes as stores open and close, so use the locator at urbanplates.com/locations for your nearest store and its hours.

When Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital announced an investment in Urban Plates in August 2023, its release described a 17-restaurant chain across San Diego County, Orange County, greater Los Angeles and Northern California. We didn’t find a newer official count.

Finding an Urban Plates near you

The quickest route is the app or the locator on urbanplates.com, which shows each store’s hours and its menu with local prices. Searching “Urban Plates near me” in Google Maps also works, but check the hours on Urban Plates’ own page, since third-party listings can lag behind changes.

Allergens, Gluten-Free and Dietary Options

Urban Plates marks menu items as Gluten Free (GF), Dairy Free (DF), Vegetarian (VEG) and Vegan (V). Most plates become gluten-free when you ask for no bread. But the menu warns it can’t guarantee items won’t touch others during preparation, so people with celiac disease or serious allergies should talk to staff first.

  • Gluten-free: all the grilled proteins and most sides are marked GF. Ask for no bread. Gluten-free bread is available on sandwiches for a small charge.
  • Vegan: Grilled Organic Tofu plate, Beets + Avocado Bowl, Tomato Basil soup, Classic House salad, the Grilled Organic Tofu sandwich, and vegan sides such as Organic Carrots & Beets, Quinoa and Basmati Rice.
  • Dairy-free: grilled chicken, grass-fed steak, grilled salmon and ahi tuna are all marked DF. The blackened salmon and barramundi come with lemon hollandaise and aren’t.
  • Raw or undercooked: the steak, salmon and ahi tuna are marked with an asterisk, meaning they may be served raw or undercooked.

Full nutrition and allergen details are on Urban Plates’ nutrition page, and the menu has a QR code linking to its allergen information.

Comparing healthy chains? See our Salad and Go menu, the Chipotle menu with prices, the First Watch menu and nutrition guide, and our Panera breakfast menu.

Why Other Urban Plates Price Lists Look Cheaper

Many Urban Plates price lists online are out of date. One widely copied list shows a Grilled Grass Fed Steak plate at $20.25 and a Chicken Cobb at $16.50. Urban Plates’ own October 2026 menu prices them at $22.99 and $17.50.

Those lists also include items that aren’t on the current menu, such as a Mediterranean Chicken Bowl, an Urban Superfood Salad and a Chicken Tender Family Meal. And some carry calorie figures that don’t match Urban Plates’ menu at all. If a list doesn’t say where its prices came from or when, assume it’s old.

  • Your sides set the calories. Fries and mac & cheese can double a plate’s total.
  • Order pickup in the app for the dine-in price and accurate local pricing.
  • Plate Pass pays off fast if you visit twice a month or more.
  • Prices have risen about 30% to 40% on plates since 2021, per Urban Plates’ own menus.
  • Northern California catering costs more than Southern California on most items.

How We Researched This Urban Plates Guide

Every current price and calorie figure comes from Urban Plates’ own menus, downloaded from the chain’s server: the Southern California restaurant menu dated 21 October 2026, and the Southern and Northern California catering menus dated 19 October 2026. The price history uses two older Urban Plates menus from October 2021 and October 2022. Urban Plates’ main website blocks automated reading, so for Plate Pass rules, ordering and locations we relied on what its own pages show in search, and we say where those pages disagree.

What we couldn’t confirm: current Plate Pass plan prices, a current total store count, and individual store hours. The calorie totals for whole plates are our own sums of Urban Plates’ figures.

Hungry Jack’s Menu Prices 2026: Whopper, Brekky & kJ

⚡ Nutrition from Hungry Jack’s own guides
Last updated: November 2026

Quick Answer: What’s on the Hungry Jack’s Menu, and What Does It Cost?

Hungry Jack’s sells flame-grilled Whopper burgers, Grill Masters Angus burgers, Jack’s Fried Chicken, Brekky wraps and rolls, thick cut chips, Storm desserts and Jack’s Cafe coffee. It doesn’t print prices on its website. A November 2026 list collected at a Melbourne store puts a Whopper at $12.35, a Cheeseburger at $5.90 and a Bacon Deluxe at $13.45. Below is the full menu, with energy, protein and sodium taken from Hungry Jack’s own nutrition guides.

Hungry Jack’s is the Burger King franchise in Australia. Its menu is built around the Whopper, but by late 2026 it covers far more than burgers: Grill Masters Angus, fried and grilled chicken, a breakfast range sold as “Brekky”, and a barista coffee brand called Jack’s Cafe.

Prices are the part people search for most, and they’re also the hardest to pin down. Hungry Jack’s menu pages show the food, not the price. So this guide does two things. It uses Hungry Jack’s own nutrition PDFs for every kilojoule, protein and sodium figure. And for prices, it puts two third-party lists side by side, so you can see how much they disagree.

Hungry Jack’s Menu Prices in Australia (2026)

Hungry Jack’s doesn’t publish a national price list. A third-party list collected at a Melbourne restaurant and dated 1 November 2026 shows a Whopper at $12.35, Double Whopper at $16.45, Cheeseburger at $5.90 and Bacon Deluxe at $13.45. An older list dated August 2026 shows the same burgers $0.50 to $4.00 cheaper.

Each restaurant sets its own prices, so neither list is “the” price. The Melbourne list says so itself, and Hungry Jack’s Penny Pinchers page notes that “Delivery prices vary.” Here is how the two lists compare on the items they both carry:

Item Melbourne store list (1 Nov 2026) Aussie Menu list (7 Aug 2026) Gap
Whopper $12.35 $9.95 $2.40
Whopper Cheese $13.30 $10.75 $2.55
Double Whopper $16.45 $12.95 $3.50
Bacon Deluxe $13.45 $11.95 $1.50
Cheeseburger $5.90 $4.95 $0.95
Double Cheeseburger $8.35 $6.95 $1.40
BBQ Cheeseburger $5.95 $5.45 $0.50
Chicken Royale $13.95 $9.95 $4.00
Classic Jack’s Fried Chicken $14.40 $10.95 $3.45
Grilled Chicken $12.60 $10.45 $2.15
BBQ Brekky Wrap $9.70 $7.95 $1.75
Jack’s Brekky Roll $10.50 $6.95 $3.55
Hash Brown $3.00 $2.95 $0.05

The gap isn’t random. Every item is dearer on the newer list, and the Chicken Royale, Jack’s Brekky Roll and Double Whopper moved the most. Two explanations fit: prices rose between August and November, or the August list was out of date when it was published. It’s probably both. Some of its item names, such as “Angus Classic” and “Southern Style Tenders” without a piece count, don’t match anything on Hungry Jack’s current menu pages.

One price sits oddly in the table: the Chicken Royale at $13.95. Hungry Jack’s own app deals page offers a Chicken Royale plus a Medium Coke for $5 on pickup, and lists the Chicken Royale under Penny Pinchers. So the listed counter price and what most people pay for that burger can be very different. More on that in the app deals section.

Whopper & Beef Burgers: Prices and Kilojoules

The standard Whopper is a 280 g burger with 2,437 kJ, 28.1 g of protein and 846 mg of sodium, according to Hungry Jack’s November 2026 nutrition guide. That’s about 28% of the 8,700 kJ average adult daily intake Hungry Jack’s quotes. A Cheeseburger is 1,347 kJ.

Hungry Jack’s calls the Whopper its largest burger and says it has been an Aussie favourite for over 40 years. The beef range now runs from a $3.20 Hamburger to the Ultimate Double Whopper, which tops 4,400 kJ.

Burger Price (Melbourne) Energy Protein Sodium
Hamburger $3.20 1,192 kJ 13.5 g 460 mg
Cheeseburger $5.90 1,347 kJ 15.8 g 619 mg

Ultimate Double Whopper $18.05 4,401 kJ 62.9 g 1,959 mg

Limited-time beef burgers in late 2026

Hungry Jack’s “What’s New” tiles in November 2026 include the Cheese Lovers Whopper, the Double Cheese Lovers Whopper, the Cheesy Cheeseburger and the Big Jack range. Its nutrition guide marks the Cheese Lovers Whopper as a trial item at 3,540 kJ and 1,345 mg of sodium. The double version reaches 4,956 kJ, more than half of an average adult’s daily energy in one burger.

The Cowboy Whopper is listed as limited time too. The double version carries 2,114 mg of sodium, the highest of any beef burger in the guide.

Grill Masters Angus Burgers

Grill Masters is Hungry Jack’s Angus range. The Melbourne list prices single Grill Masters burgers from $15.75 to $17.80 and doubles from $19.40 to $22.05. The Grill Masters Angus, Bacon & Cheese has 3,390 kJ and 50.8 g of protein, per Hungry Jack’s June 2026 guide.

Hungry Jack’s describes the patties as Aussie Angus beef, flame-grilled. These are the heaviest burgers on the menu. Most of the doubles in Hungry Jack’s guide top 4,900 kJ.

Grill Masters burger Price (Melbourne) Energy Protein Sodium
Angus, Bacon & Cheese $15.75 3,390 kJ 50.8 g 1,242 mg
Double Angus, Bacon & Cheese $19.40 5,468 kJ 89.3 g 1,623 mg
Smoky Chipotle Angus $16.25 3,213 kJ 45.7 g 1,072 mg
Chicago Angus $16.90 3,329 kJ 45.7 g 966 mg
Cowboy Angus $17.25 3,896 kJ 51.5 g 1,268 mg
Spicy Chipotle Angus $17.80 3,365 kJ 46.0 g 962 mg
Double Cowboy Angus $21.95 5,661 kJ 84.9 g 1,497 mg

Here’s the part that surprises people. The Double Angus, Bacon & Cheese is the most expensive beef option in this table, yet it gives the most protein per dollar on the whole menu: about 4.6 g per dollar at the Melbourne price. If protein is what you’re paying for, the big burger is the cheap one. If kilojoules matter more, it’s the worst pick here, at 63% of an average day’s energy.

Chicken Burgers, Tenders and Nuggets

Hungry Jack’s chicken range has three burger families: Jack’s Fried Chicken, Grilled Chicken and the Chicken Royale. The Classic Jack’s Fried Chicken has 2,843 kJ and 36.1 g of protein. The Grilled Chicken Classic has 1,465 kJ and 22.4 g, the lightest full-size chicken burger on the menu.

Chicken item Price (Melbourne) Energy Protein Sodium
Chicken Royale $13.95 1,404 kJ 11.5 g 622 mg
Grilled Chicken (Classic) $12.60 1,465 kJ 22.4 g 661 mg
Spicy Grilled Chicken $12.60 1,388 kJ 22.4 g 723 mg
Classic Jack’s Fried Chicken $14.40 2,843 kJ 36.1 g 1,216 mg
Spicy Jack’s Fried Chicken $14.40 3,025 kJ 36.1 g 1,316 mg
Classic Jack’s Fried Chicken, Cheese & Bacon $16.35 3,126 kJ 41.7 g 1,590 mg
Napoletana Jack’s Fried Chicken $17.00 3,250 kJ 43.1 g 1,728 mg
3 Southern Style Tenders $11.10 2,393 kJ 23.7 g 1,816 mg
5 Southern Style Tenders $15.35 3,633 kJ 39.2 g 2,835 mg

The tenders deserve a warning. Five Southern Style Tenders carry 2,835 mg of sodium, more than any burger in the Whopper & Beef guide. Most of that comes from the coating, so the tenders are a much saltier way to get chicken than a grilled burger.

Nuggets come in 3, 6, 12 and 18 packs with sauce. Hungry Jack’s guide lists a 6 pack at 1,092 kJ, 14.8 g of protein and 458 mg of sodium. The Melbourne list prices 6 Nuggets & Sauce at $10.60.

Hungry Jack’s Brekky Menu and Breakfast Hours

Hungry Jack’s breakfast is sold before 11am. Its FAQ says most stores serve breakfast from 5am to 11am and some from 6am to 11am, with main menu items available all day. The BBQ Brekky Wrap is listed at $9.70 on the Melbourne list, and a Hash Brown at $3.00 with 685 kJ.

That 5am start is earlier than many people expect, and earlier than some price sites state. If you’re on the road before 6am, the app or the store page will tell you whether your local restaurant is one of the 5am stores.

Brekky item Price (Melbourne) Energy Protein Sodium
Hash Brown $3.00 685 kJ 1.4 g 244 mg
Bacon & Egg Turkish Brekky Roll $8.50 929 kJ 13.3 g 518 mg
Sausage & Egg Turkish Brekky Roll $8.65 2,045 kJ 26.6 g 798 mg
Big BBQ Brekky Wrap $10.95 2,602 kJ 28.4 g 1,073 mg
Mega BBQ Brekky Wrap $13.30 4,027 kJ 55.0 g 1,608 mg
Jack’s Brekky Roll $10.50 2,477 kJ 34.7 g 1,048 mg
Ham & Cheese Toastie $5.95 1,201 kJ 15.5 g 682 mg
Cheese Toastie $4.95 1,087 kJ 11.3 g 412 mg
French Toast Fingers (4) $6.00* 1,852 kJ 1.9 g 414 mg
Eggs Benny Brekky Wrap (limited time) — 2,624 kJ 32.3 g 1,142 mg

Hungry Jack’s also says it only uses cage-free, freshly cracked eggs. That’s the company’s own claim on its About page, and it applies across the Brekky range.

Sides and Snacks: Thick Cut Chips, Onion Rings, Nuggets

Hungry Jack’s sells thick cut chips in small, medium and large. Per Hungry Jack’s September 2026 guide, a small has 1,063 kJ, a medium 1,289 kJ and a large 1,843 kJ. Small Thick Cut Chips are on the Penny Pinchers value menu.

Hungry Jack’s switched from traditional fries to thick cut chips, which its About page lists among its “Keeping It Real” changes. That’s why older price lists still say “fries”.

Side Energy Protein Sodium
Thick Cut Chips, Small (89 g) 1,063 kJ 3.1 g 489 mg
Thick Cut Chips, Medium (108 g) 1,289 kJ 3.8 g 593 mg
Thick Cut Chips, Large (155 g) 1,843 kJ 5.4 g 848 mg
Onion Rings, Medium 1,196 kJ 2.6 g 336 mg
Onion Rings, Large 1,794 kJ 3.9 g 503 mg
6 Nuggets 1,092 kJ 14.8 g 458 mg
12 Nuggets 2,183 kJ 29.6 g 916 mg
6 Nuggets & Large Chips Snack Box 2,938 kJ 20.2 g 1,307 mg

Prices for sides were the weakest part of both third-party lists. The Melbourne list gives one price, $3.45, for Thick Cut Chips without saying which size, and $5.20 for onion rings. Treat those as a rough guide only.

Desserts, Shakes and Jack’s Cafe Coffee

Hungry Jack’s desserts are the Storm range, sundaes, the Soft Serve Cone, Sticky Date Pudding and the Drumstick Mini. A Soft Serve Cone has 1,281 kJ and a small Chocolate Sundae 1,574 kJ, per Hungry Jack’s November 2026 desserts guide. Jack’s Cafe sells barista coffee at participating restaurants.

Dessert Energy Note
Drumstick Mini 603 kJ Lightest dessert
Sticky Date Pudding 960 kJ 1,382 kJ with ice cream
Soft Serve Cone 1,281 kJ —
Chocolate Sundae, Small / Large 1,574 / 2,227 kJ —
Caramel Sundae, Small / Large 1,632 / 2,285 kJ —
Storm OREO 1,758 kJ —
Storm CADBURY FLAKE 2,166 kJ —
Biscoff Storm 2,606 kJ —
Pistachio Storm (limited time) 2,874 kJ —

A Biscoff Storm has more energy than a Whopper. That isn’t a reason to skip it, but it’s worth knowing if you’re adding one to a meal.

Jack’s Cafe

Jack’s Cafe is Hungry Jack’s barista coffee brand. Its menu page lists more than 20 drinks, from Cappuccino, Flat White and Latte to Iced Dirty Chai and a Babyccino, at participating Jack’s Cafe restaurants only. Hungry Jack’s FAQ also describes a coffee offer where the fifth eligible Jack’s Cafe barista coffee is free after four, but it names participating restaurants in the NT and Tasmania, so don’t count on it elsewhere.

Veggie and Plant-Based Whopper

Hungry Jack’s Veggie Range has six burgers, including the Plant Based Whopper and the Veggie Whopper Cheese. Its veggie patty is made from corn, capsicum and carrot, per the menu page. The Plant Based Whopper has 2,317 kJ and 24.6 g of protein in Hungry Jack’s January 2026 guide.

Veggie burger Energy Protein Sodium
Veggie Whopper Cheese 2,277 kJ 17.6 g 1,162 mg
Plant Based Whopper 2,317 kJ 24.6 g 1,154 mg
Plant Based Whopper Cheese 2,630 kJ 29.6 g 1,306 mg
Angry Veggie Whopper Cheese 2,586 kJ 18.5 g 1,448 mg
Double Veggie Whopper Cheese 2,900 kJ 21.5 g 1,531 mg

Two things stand out. First, the Plant Based Whopper has about the same energy as the beef Whopper, 2,317 kJ against 2,437 kJ. Second, it carries more sodium: 1,154 mg against 846 mg. So “plant based” here means a different protein source, not a lighter burger. Hungry Jack’s lists the Plant Based and Veggie Whoppers as separate products; only the Veggie patty is described as corn, capsicum and carrot.

Kids Packs

Hungry Jack’s sells four Kid’s Packs: Hamburger, Cheeseburger, 6 Nuggets and 3 Nuggets. Each comes with a choice of side salad or small thick cut chips, a drink and a randomly selected toy, per the Kids menu page.

The side choice changes the numbers a lot. In Hungry Jack’s January 2026 kids guide, a Hamburger Kid’s Meal with salad comes to 1,171 kJ, while the Cheeseburger Kid’s Meal with chips comes to 2,359 kJ. The kids side salad itself is just 32 kJ. The Melbourne list prices the Hamburger and Cheeseburger Kid’s Packs at $7.65 each, though that figure came from a summarised part of the page, so check it in-store.

Best Value on the Hungry Jack’s Menu: Protein and Energy per Dollar

Using Melbourne store prices and Hungry Jack’s own nutrition figures, the Grill Masters Double Angus, Bacon & Cheese gives the most protein per dollar, about 4.6 g. The $3.20 Hamburger is next at 4.2 g, the best of the cheap burgers. The Chicken Royale gives the least, under 1 g per dollar at full price.

No other Hungry Jack’s guide we found does this calculation, so here it is. We divided each burger’s protein and energy by its Melbourne price. It’s a blunt measure, but it shows which items fill you up for the money.

Item Price Protein per $1 kJ per $1 Share of 8,700 kJ day
Grill Masters Double Angus, Bacon & Cheese $19.40 4.6 g 282 63%
Hamburger $3.20 4.2 g 372 14%
Triple Cheeseburger $10.45 3.5 g 250 30%
Ultimate Double Whopper $18.05 3.5 g 244 51%
Double Cheeseburger $8.35 3.2 g 237 23%
Cheeseburger $5.90 2.7 g 228 15%
Classic Jack’s Fried Chicken $14.40 2.5 g 197 33%
Whopper $12.35 2.3 g 197 28%
Bacon Deluxe $13.45 2.2 g 159 25%
Grilled Chicken $12.60 1.8 g 116 17%
Chicken Royale $13.95 0.8 g 101 16%

Our take on the numbers: the Double Cheeseburger is the sensible middle. It gives more protein per dollar than a Whopper, costs $4 less, and sits under a quarter of an average day’s energy. The Whopper’s appeal is the salad and the size of the bun, not the value.

Two limits on this table. It uses full prices, so app deals change it. A Chicken Royale bought through the $5 app deal works out at 2.3 g of protein per dollar, not 0.8 g, and that’s before counting the Coke. And it ignores sodium, which matters more than price for some readers.

Hungry Jack’s App: Deals, Shake & Win and Penny Pinchers

Hungry Jack’s runs its cheapest prices through the app. Its app deals page lists a $2.50 Small Coffee, a $5 Chicken Royale + Medium Coke, and $12 for 2 Whopper Juniors + 2 Medium Chips, all pickup only. Shake & Win gives app users two shakes a day for a prize.

App deal (Hungry Jack’s app deals page) Price
Small Coffee $2.50
Medium Iced Coffee $3.50
Sticky Date Pudding $3
Chicken Royale + Medium Coke $5
2 Whopper Junior + 2 Medium Chips $12

Shake & Win

The app gives you two shakes a day for a prize. Per Hungry Jack’s FAQ, you have 30 seconds to accept a prize and 30 minutes to redeem it.

Free birthday Whopper

Hungry Jack’s website says that adding your birth date gets you a free birthday Whopper.

Penny Pinchers

The everyday value menu includes the Cheesy Cheeseburger, BBQ Cheeseburger, Chicken Royale, Small Thick Cut Chips and Large Frozen Drinks, at participating restaurants.

Pre-order price

Hungry Jack’s FAQ says pre-ordering prices are the same as counter prices, with a $1.00 minimum spend.

Delivery is where prices climb. Hungry Jack’s own Penny Pinchers page says delivery prices vary, and the app deals don’t apply to delivery at all. If price matters, order for pickup.

Why Burger King Is Called Hungry Jack’s in Australia

Jack Cowin opened the first Hungry Jack’s in Innaloo, Perth, in 1971, per Hungry Jack’s About page. The name exists because “Burger King” was already a registered trademark held by a takeaway in Adelaide, so Cowin used a variant of “Hungry Jack”, a Pillsbury pancake mix brand.

That trademark story is reported by Wikipedia and several news outlets. Hungry Jack’s own page doesn’t tell it, though its page title still reads “The Burger King Franchise In Australia”. Burger King Corporation later challenged the arrangement in court, and the courts sided with Hungry Jack’s, which is why the Hungry Jack’s name is still on the stores.

Today Hungry Jack’s describes itself as Aussie-owned, with more than 480 restaurants, over 19,000 staff and more than 2 million customers a week. It also says it serves more than 125 million Australian beef patties a year. Those are the company’s own figures from its About page.

Comparing chains? Our Burger King breakfast menu guide covers the US version of the brand, and the McDonald’s menu and KFC menu with prices guides cover two of Hungry Jack’s biggest rivals.

How We Researched This Hungry Jack’s Guide

Every kilojoule, protein and sodium figure comes from Hungry Jack’s own nutrition PDFs, linked from its Nutrition Info page. We read nine of them, dated between January and November 2026, and used the per-serve columns. Menu names, Brekky hours, app deals and company figures come from Hungry Jack’s menu pages, FAQ and About page, read on 3 November 2026.

Prices come from two third-party lists, because Hungry Jack’s doesn’t publish them. We trust the Melbourne list more, since it names where its prices came from, but neither is official. The protein-per-dollar table is our own calculation.

What we left out: Hungry Jack’s guide lists the Whopper Junior at 633 kJ but with 18.2 g of fat, which alone would supply more energy than that. Because those figures can’t both be right, we’ve left the Whopper Junior out of our tables.

Where Hungry Jack’s own figures don’t add up, as with the Whopper Junior, the page says so instead of repeating them.
